I got sussied!!!!

Today I met with my partner, Pete, for coffee. And Pete had a surprise for me!

He received an email from someone that said the following:

“Meggie of the Sussy Project recently did a wonderful kindness for a friend, and I would like to send it back around to her — the kindness, I mean!  Can you suggest something meaningful that would be a sussy for Meggie?  Anonymity is also required, so it shouldn’t be something traceable!”

With Pete’s guidance, this person got me the perfect sussy! I opened the box to reveal two pairs of awesome running socks! I never spend money on nice running socks but man do I love them. This absolutely MADE MY DAY.

That’s the thing about sussies. They really do put a smile on people’s faces.

Pete and I talked about how we aren’t solving world hunger here. And some of the people we get nominations for need much more than a $20 gift card or a bouquet of flowers. But we also know that sometimes just a smile at the right time can make a huge difference to someone’s day.

Thank you to the anonymous giver who gave me a sussy today. I can’t wait to wear my new socks on my long run this weekend!
