As a relatively new member to The Sussy Squad, this was my first official “Sussy”. I’m a busy person, aren’t we all? But, what a powerful thing to give a Sussy. To stop and focus on giving someone else something, just because. We received the below letter from Heather’s sister, and I could immediately relate to the break this woman needed and got excited to give this “others” focused person a moment to focus on themselves.
The first is my sister (Heather) she has four kids and is ALWAYS putting everyone else before herself. She is a Kindergarten teacher too. She is one of the best teachers…she isn’t afraid to act silly and get them excited about learning. She isn’t afraid if they give her a giant hug in the middle of a store. She truly cares about her class and her family. She could use a lift 
Don’t we all know someone like that? The person who always puts everyone else before themselves, who doesn’t always take the time for the things they want and need. I was reminded of this quote when we got this submission: “I’m a strong person but every now and then I would like someone to take my hand and say everything will be alright”. So, Heather, please consider your Sussy us taking your hand and saying “Everything will be alright, just take some time for yourself”. We sent Heather a gift certificate to take some pamper time for a mani or pedi and go do something for HERSELF!
Here is her response:
I am a mom of 4 children, a wife, a tutor, a teacher, a Thirty-One consultant, a babysitter, a Girl Scout Leader, and a Nursery Worker so I tend not to take time to pamper myself. I plan to use my pedicure next week to prepare myself for going back to school. I am so thankful my sister nominated me for a sussy and is forcing me to take a moment to take care of me!
Wow – what a lady, not only is she busy, but she’s busy doing for others. We are honored to have been able to give Heather a chance to take care of herself and are thankful for people like her, who are always helping others!
