Circle of Sussies

We’ve got another full-circle sussy post for you. This one all started with Bonnie Wilson who nominated her friend Stephanie. Christi, a member of the Sussy Squad, managed this sussy experience and wrote the following:

Sometimes in life, just when you need it most, a friend comes along….to support and encourage you, through struggles and hard times.  To Bonnie, Stephanie has been just that friend.  A friend who does a great job of making everyone around her smile, and who has always been willing to lend a listening ear.

We received a Sussy nomination from Bonnie for Stephanie, a friend who, even while juggling her own life, has had enough time to support and encourage Bonnie while she finishes college, deals with family circumstances and tries to stay motivated.

This is what Bonnie has to say about her friend Stephanie:

Stephanie has been a guardian angel; any time I have needed a friend, someone to talk to, or a reason to smile when things seem like they aren’t possible, she has been there with me. Without her help I would not be so ready to take my future head on, I might have quit school and quit going for the whole nine yards when it comes to my dreams. And the thing is, we have never met face to face. I don’t think I can put into words what she has meant to me.”

I was honored to be the Sussy Squad member that had the opportunity to contact Stephanie.  I reached out to her, sharing the nomination from Bonnie.  I decided to send her a Starbucks gift card, so she could stop in the midst of her own busy life and treat herself to a little pick-me-up!  Upon receiving her treat, Stephanie had this to say:

Dear Christi- Thank you and Bonnie for the Starbucks gift card. As a stay at home mom to a 7 week old, I will take great advantage of this. :-) Bonnie is an amazing friend and it was very sweet of her to think of me. Keep up the good work.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! Because Bonnie is no ordinary lady. Within days of her nomination for Stephanie, we received one for her!!! Jaime, another awesome member of the Sussy Squad, managed this one.

FROM JAIME:

We have a lot of goals here at The Sussy Project. After all, we are a very ambitious group! But one of our #1 goals is persuading others to take part in this amazing movement of gifting for no reason. And every once in awhile, the stars align and things even come full circle in the act. And that, my friends, is exactly what happened to Bonnie after she nominated Stephanie.

A friend of Bonnie’s, who has requested to remain anonymous, found out about The Sussy Project after reading about it on Facebook. And in turn, this person brought it full circle and nominated Bonnie.

Here is a summary of what our nominator had to say about this awesome girl…

Bonnie is an amazing young woman and I don’t think she realizes the kind of impact she has on people. She always is doing for others before she does for herself. Bonnie gives of herself to others simply because they need the smile. She doesn’t see herself as an inspiration, but maybe a little angel can help.

It’s time to turn the tables.

Upon nominating our girl, Bonnie, this little birdie also mentioned that she is currently training for her next running race and could use some new music from iTunes.

Running? Training? Are you kidding me? Girl just hit home with a slew of runners who are proud to call themselves Sussy Squad members. So, needless to say, we had no problem reaching out to Bonnie regarding her being nominated. We just loved her for so many reasons already!

Bonnie!!!!!

I contacted Bonnie about her nomination and received some of the warmest, most heartfelt emails back from her…

I am floored. When I heard about the project, I really wanted to get behind it. To say it’s amazing would be an understatement. My whole goal is to make a difference or make a smile in someone’s life. I don’t feel worthy. I don’t know what was said or who said it (I have no clue being my social network is pretty extensive) but I am touched, honored and crying again. I don’t know what I did to earn the nomination. The Sussy Project just hit home to me because I love trying to make people smile and this is what the project is all about. But someone out there knows I love my music (especially while I run) more than anything because I am looking at an iTunes gift card I realize someone out there really knew what I needed. Trying to be a soon to be college graduate, take care of family issues, trying to be there for some friends who are having their own tough times, trying to run and doing everything that I do. I had not had time to do something I love to do; enjoy some music. I really needed this more than anyone could understand.

To whoever nominated me…Thank you, you do not know how much you made me smile. Things are crazy stressful right now and this iTunes gift card has definitely brought a huge smile to my face.

Thank you to The Sussy Project. What you are doing is amazing!!

I mean really? Has everyone else fallen as in love with this girl as we have? Oh Bonnie, you had us at hello! We are so proud of you, and everything you are accomplishing, and we hope you enjoy every one of those songs that you purchased. Many people out there love every bit of you, Bonnie!

And, ahem, to the person who shall remain anonymous who nominated Bonnie…thank you. You made OUR day by reading all of the kind words you had to say about her. You made US smile.

See? Full circle.
